What are is the palaeodiet of early agropastoral populations?
Objectives : Obtain a comprehensive picture of dietary practices and major evolutions in food procurement from the aceramic to ceramic Neolithic by
- documenting wild and domestic faunal and botanical species exploited at each site ;
- exploring the function of stone and ceramic vessels for the processing of specific and new food commodities introduced through agropastoral activities ;
- determine the major components of human diet and any major changes with the transition from aceramic to ceramic Neolithic on the southeast route of agriculture dispersal.
Here we will work with anthropological, archaeozoological, archaeobotanical remains as well as stone and ceramic vessels from Neolithic and Chalcolithic occupations in the IIBL.
